Is there a way to change videos from .avi to .wmv?

It seems that my Sony Vegas only uses wmv and all the avi files i try to use don't show media. =/

well, if it's like word and powerpoint files, if you rename the file with a .wmv at the end, that might work.  if not, you can download VLC media player from download.com.  I've used it for years and have never had any trouble with it.  It's free and can play many different video file types.

eRight's Super converter will convert just about everything.

it's kind of hard to find the download link on their website but once you've found it your life will never be the same again!

i've converted files to play in Itunes, on cellphones, on MSNtv. It even converts video files to mp3.

I'm sure I'm probably only using maybe a tenth of its features.

There's a website called mediaconverter.org. I've used it to convert music and video files into different file types.

There are all kind of video file converter softwares. Search AVI to WMV Converter on Google or Yahoo. Some of them aren't even software. Website that are devoted to converting files and spitting them back out. Input the file and then after it's done you can download the newly formatted file.

Go to sswarez.com, look thru appz, download  a video convertor program. Make sure you have a good antivirus installed, and scan the program you dowload b4 you install it.

Windows Movie Maker.  Just load the .avi file in movie maker then drag it to the storyboard and click on file and save movie file and it will save it as .wmv.
