  1. There isn't really any corners that you can cut, but there are ways to get help.  I included a website that gives grants to couples who are trying to adopt.  I think there are other agencies that help people to adopt children, but you need to research for it.  Also, you are allowed deduct adoption fees from your taxes up to a certain amount a year, so that could be very helpful if you do it right.  My wife and I are currently in the process of getting recertified to be foster parents so we can adopt.  I hope and pray everything works out for you!

  2. No there are no corners to be cut, adoption laws are pretty strict. You can choose a foster-to-adopt or state/county social services adoption (newborns are sometimes placed) which is often free or very low cost consisting of filing fees.

  3. I think the only way is to go thru foster/adopt. thats what we are doing and there is no cost to us at all as the adoptive parents and we already have our children.

  4. Probably not, since you'll probably have to pay mother's medical bills and a lawyer. If you want to save money adopt a child instead

  5. Well... It depends. There are many grants available and there is the 10k Tax credit and there are many employers who will offer reimbursement (Check with your HR). Other than that there are things you can do to raise money, for example many people ask family members for help, have a Beef and Beer, Yard Sale, sell cookbooks, etc. If you adopt internationally you can cut on travel expenses. Best of Luck!

  6. You should stop adopting if you dont have enough money. Maybe you should adopt a animal or something.

  7. Yes & No.  The first responder is correct.  Adoption is a legal proceeding and certain legal requirments must be met.  However, finding a family with a child and proceeding with a private adoption through an attorney or "identified" adoption through an agency will save you "some" money.

However, adoption is not "cheap" whichever route you choose.  It is however worth it.

    Good luck to you.

  8. Yes, become a Foster Parents to adoption Parents. Go through a private Foster Parenting agency instead of the county you have a greater chance of getting the child choose, and a child sooner then through the county. The Foster Parenting agency will usually cover all the fees for adopting.  Foster Parents are given the option to adopt the children first. Best Wishes!
