My camera has been freezing up when I try to delete things off of my SD card. I've been trying to figure out a way to use the computer to delete the pics off of the card but I'm not to good with the computer. My camera still lets me take pics with out freezing but the card is getting full and I don't have money to buy another one. Please help me so I will still be able to take pics.

  1. I use a card reader, a Simpletec Bonzai. Plug it in, and it shows up as a removable drive. Treat it like a floppy. Move your pics to a folder on your HD, then right click on it and do a format. *poof* done.

  2. It sounds like it might be better to use the camera to reformat the card when it is in your camera, after you've downloaded your photos, of course.

This will delete all the photos off the card.

If that still isn't working, use a card reader to mount the card as a removable drive on your computer. Then drag and drop the photos in the trash or recycling bin.

  3. Two thoughts:

One - You can delete from the computer, if you have the SD card in a memory card reader or in a SD card slot.  THEN, format the card in the camera to completely prepare it for the next batch of pictures.

Two- Why aren't you getting another card?  Currently, I'm finding 2gb SD cards going for $15 or less, on sale.  You can get them for under $20 most anywhere.  It's inexpensive and will give you so much more flexibility.

  4. You have two options.  If you have a card reader, you can put the card in that and move them.  If not, you can set up the camera as removable media and use it as a card reader and move the files that way.
