Can't we just send a chemical substance or something to manipulate the gases to make them disappear, somehow?

  1. The problem with 'manipulating' greenhouse gasses is that it has not been definitively proved that they are affecting our climate.  So if some substance was found to miraculously remove 'greenhouse' gasses from the atmosphere the results could be worse than the climate problem.

For example Australia imported Cane Toads to control insect pests in farm crops.  Well the insect in question maintained habitat at the top of the plant but the toad was at the bottom.  So now the original insect infestation has not been remedied and there is now an infestation of Cane Toads.  Because as an introduced species they had no natural enemies.

History is full of examples of human's attempts to 'fix' a problem and thereby creating one or more additional problems instead.  So anything we might do could have drastic unintended results.

  2. there is no chemical substance that can eliminate any other substance by simply putting them together, either one swallows the other or nothing happens
