Is there a way to do this? No landline, but have wireless internet...?

My family wants to save money by getting rid of our landline. We have Verizon high-speed wireless internet for about $20 a month, but I know that you cannot have that without a landline.

So, what we want to be able to do is have some sort of wireless internet (we have a router, obviously) without a landline, and then get a basic family plan of 4 wireless phones.

Is there anyway to do this? That would be great.

An estimate of cost would be nice as well.

You can get a wireless card that you plug into your computer and it gives you internet. I think its about 60 bucks from sprint. Works anywhere.

Get your internet service through high speed cable.  Then get skype.  You can get very cheap home phone service (about 50 bucks a year...I am not exaggerating) .  Skype also has wi-fi cell phones, although I can not rate how they work.  I live in a small town so wi-fi is not readily available.

There are cell phone companys that make a computer access port using their towers but it is limited in your up and downstream caps and you have to be near a cell tower.  get cable and a cable modem.

as to answer one its technically a felony to use someone elses wifi without permission.
