Is there a way to download old emails from a group to my mail?

My hard drive died and I lost all of my email. Is there a way to get the old email from my groups 'sent' again or download them so I can have an 'archive' of the emails?

in a way, say you have gmail and yahoo. now say that you have had gmail for a long time and you recently got a yahoo and you wanted to put all the emails from your gmail to your yahoo. Just email all of the emails from the gmail to your yahoo.
