Is there a way to download only the newest pictures from my Nikon D40?

When i transfer pictures from my camera to my computer, it always downloads every picture. Is there a way to transfer only the recent and not previously downloaded pictures? Thats how it worked on my last digital camera, but i can't figure it out for the Nikon D40. Thanks!

I am a Canon girl, so I could tell you how to use Canon's zoombrowser, but I don't know the Nikon software.

However, why would you leave photos on your card when they were already downloaded?

It really is best to frequently format the card - gives you a better chance of avoiding card failure.
