Question:

Is there a way to find an Appendix QH mare's pedigree without being a member of the AQHA?

I rescued an Appendix AQHA mare who is 19 years old. She has a tat, but I'm told this won't help identify her. I was told her registered name is Pipestone Pass and that she goes back to Jet Deck on the TB side. Is there a way that I can get information (pedigree, foals, breeder, race info) on the mare without becoming an AQHA member?

  1. Sov and Ibb, I've been copying into excel and e-mailing the pedigrees and such, didn't think a link would work.  I learned something NEW today!

You can have all the information but unless you get a signed transfer from the LAST AQHA listed owner, AQHA will NOT transfer the mare into your name.  A friend of mine went through this last year with an old AQHA mare and she had the papers!  There used to be a time when AQHA would make an attempt at contacting the old owner and if they didn't hear from them, then they would transfer the horse, NOT so anymore!

IF you're looking for her papers, then the best bet might be to contact the last AQHA owner, have them sign a transfer to you and request a duplicate set of registration papers.  I know she's 19 but just in case.

    Best of luck.

  2. Here is a site that will help.

    http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/jet+deck

  3. GO to www.allbreedpedigree.com .. GREAT website and very helpful!!

  4. Her reg number is X0451278, she was born on 3/01/1989 in Oregon. She had 72 starts, 14 wins, earned $2, 748...email me and I will send you a copy of her pedigree...never mind, you got a link from another member!

She also had two foals, but who they are isn't recorded, only that they were race foals. I have the link for that, too.

Rosi: I did it like you. Credit goes to Sovereign, who made me think and figure it out that it'd work as a link...

I bet she didn't cut the mustard as a broodmare and hit the sales, eventually winding up in rescue. I agree. She has a wonderful pedigree and earned some money. Last owner appears to be a Margaret Hubbard in Arlington, WA

    Pipestone Pass, DOB 3/1/89, X0451278

Nice mare who won some and then a rescue?  What a shame...I'm glad you have her now.  She's certainly well bred.
