Question:

Is there a way to find out if a crime took place in a home we are about to purchase?

We are sure the seller wouldn't disclose but we would like to know if there are other ways aside from asking the seller if a crime took place in that particular home before we purchase it.

We are planning to go to the police to inquire but we don't know if it's a valid question that they would entertain.

The house is in Anchorage Alaska built in 1983.

If you are the home buyer, would you do the same? how?

Thank you so much for your time in answering my query.

Thank you so much.

  1. also check city hall open records division if there are any this might be the place

  2. I agree with Rick, they will have records, and no, it's not odd for people to look up a homes crime history.

  3. l know if you want crime stats on an area the sherriffs dept. can provide that, so l would start there, good Luck

  4. thanks to the internet, nowadays you just do a search for the address of the house see what pops up. Check the local newspaper website, they usually have a searchable website. Any big crime at that house should turn up
