I can't really explain it. For example, when I download some files and I extract them to blank/blank/blank... is there a way to make that when I open up the files in WinRar its already set to extract to that certain area. Like when I open up the files in WinRar now its in Documents. Sorry if you don't understand its hard to explain.

Thanks ahead of time ;)

  1. In other words, you want WinRar to always use a default archive extraction path, right?

Unfortunately, you can only set the default directory which WinRar starts in when you run the program.

For selecting the file extraction path, the best that you can do is this:

When you run the program and click on the 'Extract To' button, the 'Destination Path' drop-down box will display the last few paths where you have extracted files.  Just click the down-arrow beside the edit box.

  2. You can set a default extraction folder.

Open WinRAR, then go to Options -> Settings... (Ctrl + S). Fill the 'Default folder for extracted files' field and you're done. Every time you want to extract a file, the dialog will point you to that folder.
