Is there a way to get in Canada from U.S.A without a passport?

Question

Is there anyway to get in Canada from U.S.A without a passport? & just by traveling on a taxi/car, not in a plane.

I don't know how it works.

Is that possibile?

If you are driving to Canada you need a photo I.D. AND your birth certificate.  See site below to read the law for yourself.

If you are a US citizen, coming from the US, you only need a passport if you're traveling by plane.

If you're traveling by land or water, you need a valid photo ID to show at the border.  In summer 2009, you will need a passport to travel by land or water.
