Is there a way to get money from wal*mart giftcards?

I have a $40 giftcard for walmart, but i want the cash to get Halo 3 cheaper at Gamestop, I was wondering if there was anyway, maybe buying something and returning it, or will i only get store credit?

You can sell it online, but be careful. Scam artists bid on gift certificate auctions all the time.

If you list it on iOffer or ebay, and you receive payment by PayPal, my advice is to be sure to send it only to the US, with tracking, and only to confirmed addresses. This should protect you from a scam. If you're paid by money order you don't really have to worry about losing your money.

It may be easier to give it to a friend who goes to the store often and ask for cash in return. Because you're right, you'll only get store credit if you try to get a refund.

you are correct in assuming that if you bought something with a gift card and then returned it, it would be put back on to a gift card.

either use it for something else or if a friend has something they are buying at wm ask him to use the card and pay you the cash.

You're out of luck.  If it was less than $10, then in California you could exchange it for cash.
