Is there a way to get out of a columbia house contract?

I foolishly signed up for one of there programs,it was the one where you have to buy 5 dvds from them.Is there a way out of the contract or i'm a stuck with it?

  1. If you accepted your free DVDs, you're stuck with it.


  2. I'm afraid you're stuck with it. Be careful, they try to suck you into buying things that won't go toward your required purchases too. If you're careful and read the fliers carefully you can get some really good deals. 5 over a 2 year period isn't really to bad. I'm not a member now but, in the past I've signed up and gotten anywhere from 5 to 10 for a $1 ea or less, bought the required 5 and then canceled the membership. In less than six months I'd get another invitation to join where I could get 5 to 10 for a $1 ea again. You can get quite a collection that way.

  3. Yes. Keep the DVDs and never respond, unless you've given them your social security number.

    If you did, just mail the DVDs back and cancel membership.
