My dentist office sent me a bill for $50.00 because I called and canceled my appointment within the last few hours. Can they legally do that? I don't feel I should be charged when I haven't recieved any service. How can I get out of paying this?

  1. Your best bet is to call the dentist office & ask about their cancellation policy regarding appointments.  Some charge a fee, some don't.  Some have a specific time frame, other's don't.  Some combine the two, others don't.  If they won't tell you the policy info by phone, make a trip into there to find out.

If they do have this kind of policy, it's usually posted in the office for anyone to read.  Tell them you weren't aware of a fee for cancelling your appointment.  They may give you a one time free pass, so to speak.

  2. tell them you'll take your business elsewhere. i'm not sure if that'll help or not, but it may
