I don't know why they want to do this. They want several keyboards and monitors placed around the room which can access a single computer - not at the same time though.

  3. I'm on my way out, so I don't have time for a lengthy answer, but I want to mention something right quick no-one else has in case this gets closed before I come back.

You need to take into consideration what TYPE of video cable you are using and the distance, since you mentioned "around the room".

Keyboard and mice can use USB over pretty long distances.

As others mentioned, it can be done with the right switching hardware.

    Cheers

  4. You can get a VGA switch http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b43/cd...  or http://www.amazon.com/4-VGA-Only-Switchb... that should work for the monitors. You can just run USB cables to the keyboards. A computer can handle having more than one plugged in. You might have to get a USB hub if you don't have enough usb ports. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_e/104-...

  5. Video cards and switches.
