Question:

Is there a way to keep your hair straight?

I have hair that is pretty much curly and I straighten it every single day, caues it looks much better straightened and goes with my hair style. But sometimes it just gets annoying. Is there anyway to keep it straight so that at least when it gets wet from rain or something it doesn't curl?

I've tried hairspray and no matter how much i use it usually doesn't work.

Any other ideas?

Thanks. (:

  1. There are definitely ways to stave off that poof'n'curl effect of humidity.... while you hair is wet, use some kind of frizz fighting serum throughout your hair (paul mitchell super skinny and john frieda frizzease are my faves). Generally a quarter sized dollop is plenty for thick shoulder length hair. Once your hair is dry and straightened, apply more of the serum to your hair, except the roots. Go little by little at this point, too much can make the hair appear oily.

That said..... I have thick, coarse wavy/curly hair that never does what i want. I always straightened it, because it isn't "pretty" curly, just kind of wild. But I learned an easy way to style it that has incredible results, you should really give it a try. After applying and rinsing out your shampoo in the shower, finish anything else you need to do, save the conditioner for last. When you are ready, flip your head forward so that your hair is hanging down in front of you (it sounds crazy, but bear with me). Instead of rubbing it in, scrunch conditioner into your hair, and then continue scrunching as you rinse it out- don't run your fingers through it. Leave your head flipped forward, and towel dry your hair, not by rubbing it, but by scrunching it upwards with the towel covering your hands. Flip your hair back (finally!) and fix your part where you like it without brushing it or even runing your fingers through it, just pick up the strands and place them where you want. From this point on, do not touch your hair. It is that simple. Once the crazy upside down routine is done, you just let it dry. To make it look nice, spray in some spray curl gel (garnier fructisse makes a great spray gel for curls) while it's wet. I know it sounds ridiculous, but the results are INCREDIBLE, and it really only adds 5 minutes to your shower, and then you are done with your hair. The toguh part is actually leaving it alone while it dries.

I know this wasn't what you asked for, but if you are as sick of straightening your hair every day as I was, maybe you should give it a try. Here is what my hair looks like: http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-a...
