I need to find a way to limit the volume of a CD/cassette player in my classroom to prevent students from turning it up too loud while they are at the listening station. If anyone knows of a device I can buy or a way to modify my current setup I would appreciate your input. Thanks!

  1. I do not know of a device to control the volume...

My questions to you are - what is the noise level in your room?  Are there other groups working closely to those at the listening station?  Is it one particular student who has issue with the volume (if so, perhaps refer him/her to an audiologist)?  Headphones work wonders in this type of situation too!

    Just some thoughts..

  2. HIDE THE PLAYER. put the player where you can get to it, but no one can. Why are you listening to a radio station in the classroom? What grade are you managing?  The kids are supposed to stay seated during this listening, right?

This is a matter of authority and taking control. I don't know of a device to help you with this. You'll have to manage the volume without a device.
