Is there a way to make a monofin out of regular fins?

me and my friend are planning on making a mermaid tail, and we can't find any cheap monofins, all we can find are regular fins. is there any way we can make a good monofin out of those fins?

it might be really hard but, yes,

one way is to bind them together with some really strong bands and then spray paint it all so it looks "real'

another way is to take a lighter (one of those big ones) and lay the fins close together and try to melt them together.

allow it to dry, and mold together,

and repeat a few times until it wont break apart
