Is there a way to make egg-free brownies?

Im babysitting my cousins and we wanted to make cake with cake mix but we dont have eggs...

i cant leave the house to go buy any...

we settled on making brownies from scratch and need to melt the chocolate.

Please help us make some dessert :)

  1. i dont think there is but if there was i dont think it would taste so good


  2. How about you make some shortbread cookies?  you don't need eggs OR cocoa powder for those!  Decide what you're going to make based upon what you have and you wont' have to scramble for substitutions.

    take your cousin w/ you and go ask a neighbor to borrow 2-3 eggs.

  3. I'm not sure if this is really helpful, but you could try Googleing "Vegan Brownie Recipe".

    I know there are several out there, and vegan means no eggs and usually no dairy.

    INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

        * 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

        * 1 cup water

        * 1/2 cup butter

        * 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

        * 2 cups white sugar

        * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

        * 2 cups all-purpose flour

        * 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

        * 1/2 teaspoon salt

        * 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

    DIRECTIONS

       1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan. In a heavy saucepan combine the 1/3 cup of flour and water. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thick. Transfer to a mixing bowl and set aside to cool.

       2. In a small saucepan, melt butter. When butter has melted, add the cocoa and mix until smooth; set aside to cool. Beat the sugar and vanilla into the cooled flour mixture. Stir in the cocoa mixture until well blended. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt, stir into the batter until just blended. Fold in walnuts if desired. Spread evenly in the prepared pan.

       3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool before cutting into bars.
