Is there a way to market to customers through email?

I hate telemarketing. Especially when Im the only one doing so in my office while everyone is design websites , programming or other jobs which isnt like mine.

Its dead quiet here and I hate to be the only one talking.

Is there a way I can send out individual emails to customers that doesnt go into spam? Not telemarketing but still..

Yes there is. Consider ww.constantcontact.com. We use them for all our e-mail campaigns. Call them and find out if it might work for you as they usually offer a free trial period as well.

There is a whole multi-billion dollar industry out there that uses e-mail to market to customers, and I'm not talking about spam. I'm referring to the e-mails that Best Buy, Macy's, Amazon, eBay and hundreds of others send to customers who want to receive discount coupons and notification of special sales.

You can use e-mail to market to your customers, but there are pretty strict rules and regulations you must follow. You need to be aware of something called the CAN-SPAM act (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing). It states very clearly what you can and can't do using e-mail, and the responsibility you have toward your recipients. If you violate it you can be fined or, in extreme cases, jailed. So don't just start bombarding your customers and prospects with a bunch of e-mails they didn't request!

I recommend you go to the library or book store and get a book on e-mail marketing. There's even one in the Dummies series called, oddly enough, E-mail Marketing for Dummies! It will tell you all of the benefits - and pitfalls - of using e-mail to market your company.
