Is there a way to play DVDs on my WMP if it's version 9?

So I want to play my DVDs on Windows Media Player (9), and I was wondering if this version plays DVDs at all. I can't upgrade or update to WMP 11 or other versions bc of a license management certificate issue, and I REALLY want to play them on my WMP. What do you suggest I do? What's the best way to go about this?

  1. WMP 9 should be able to play DVD's but only if you have DVD decoder software installed (Intervideo, WinDVD, etc...). WMP will not play dvds right out of the box.

  2. You should be able to play dvds in windows media player 9, or if you can't you can download K-lite mega codec pack and it will install the DVD codecs for you and you will have WMP 9 ready to play DVDs

(Make sure you select Profile 2 during setup, it will be obvious to spot)
