Is there a way to play "PAL" version DVDs on a Playstation 3?

PAL refers to European formatted DVDs. American version DVDs are called NTSC formatted.

If PS3 is a PAL version, you'll be able to watch PAL DVDs, if it's A NTSC one - you can't. Only most of PS3 games are region free, everything else is region locked.

You can only play PAL DVD's on a PAL PS3, and you need to have the correct region Ps3/Disc for it too work too.

PAL and NTSC have diffrnet frame rates and resolutions so they need to be played through the correct system.
