  1. you'd have to post it through your own e-mail provider, not off a group- you'd enter all the addresses in the 'send to' field of your mail, consider BCC'ing

you simply cant post to other groups through a group- sorry

  2. That is what's called cross-posting.  A lot of group owners do not want their members cross-posting messages on their groups.  There are two ways that I send the same message to several groups:

    1)   In the email program on my computer, I have the email addresses of all my groups in my address book.  I open a new message, select the addy of the first group, then type in the message, then copy the message, then hit Send.  I open a new message to be sent to the next group, paste the message and hit send.  Then repeat until all groups have been sent that message.   It makes it fast to do it that way and keeps the owners happy.   ;)

    2)  Compose message on my computer's email program and put one group address in the "To:" field.  Then add the other group addresses as a BCC.  Then hit Send.

  3. If you have the same message you want to send to MANY groups at once just create the email and send the message to the group email addresses.

There is no need to send the message to one group at a time. I own/moderate and belong to 50 groups.  I could send a message to all 50 if I desire.

To find the email addresses of your groups:

    - Go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/

    - Click on a group icon

    - At the bottom of each group page is the group email address = groupname@yahoogroups.com.

I recommend that you add the groups to your contact list or address book (of the email address linked to the group).

I've added "1-" to the group name <and email address> I own, "2-" to the groups name I moderate and "3-" to the other groups name.

Example - I add a group I own as group name:

    1-MyYahooGroup <MyYahooGroup@yahoo.com>.

Once you've archived the addresses in your contact list or address book, you can easily find them because they will be listed first!

  4. You can write the addresses to the TO section of your message (or to the BCC - blind carbon copy- section, if you do not want other groups' names to be known by the other groups' members).
