Is there a way to put my yahoo blog onto my own website?

I have a separate website url that I'd like to add a blog to. I didn't want to have to open another profile with another server like blogspot.com, etc.. Is there a way to use my yahoo blog on 360 on my website? How do I do that - if so. Thank you!

  1. Perhaps, but likely not easily. There is no automatic code or function for embedding 360 blogs in web sites. BUT you can try the following:

    1) If your web site has RSS capabilities and can show the content differently than just a list of links, then perhaps you can use that for adding a public, RSS-enabled 360 blog to your web site.

You'd have to make your 360 blog an RSS feed first. The blog area also needs its permissions to be set to "Public".

    - Click "My Blog"

    - Click "Edit Blog Settings"

    - Go to the "Who can see your blog" section and make sure it's set to public. Then, click "Publish site feed" box.

    - Click the "Save" button

Some RSS buttons will appear in your blog at the bottom of each entry (maybe - this feature is not reliable). See http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/blo... for more information. If you click on the RSS button on your 360 blog, you can copy the RSS web address that appears in your browser's URL field for use with another site.

Then, your website has to be RSS-enabled as well. You'll probably have to consult your web site designer or web host regarding how to incorporate RSS into your site.

    2) You can click "Edit" on each blog entry. Click the "View HTML Source" box on the entry's toolbar. Copy the HTML code and add it to your web site pages' HTML code.

    3) You can link to your 360 space from your web site by using anchor tags.

****** You can enable the simple URL for your 360 if you don't mind displaying your Yahoo ID. Set up your simple URL in two places:

    - Click your "Settings" link on the top right of your 360 blog. Select "Activate my Simple URL" in  the Simple URL section below, if you want a simple URL for your 360 page. Click the "Save and Continue" button at the bottom.

    - Click the "Blog Settings" link to the upper left of the page.  Make sure you put a title, then scroll down and activate your simple URL. Click the "Save" button at the bottom.

See http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-1qCkw2Eha... for a visual on this.

Now, you can give out 2 URLs:

For your 360 space - http://360.yahoo.com/[Your Yahoo ID or whatever profile ID you're using]

For your blog area - http://blog.360.yahoo.com/[Your Yahoo ID or whatever profile ID you're using]

*Without brackets, of course... for example, mine is http://blog.360.yahoo.com/kee_y360 .

******* OR you can use the long URL that 360 provides.

    - Click "My Page"

    - Click the drop down menu "Preview as seen by" at the top right of your 360 "My Page".

    - Choose PUBLIC as the permission group and click the "Go" button

    - Click the "Top Page" link above your personal profile picture section on the left side.

    - Select & copy the FULL web address that appears in your web browser's address bar (starting from the http:// part)

Whatever URL version, add this code (i.e. anchor tags) to your web site HTML:

    <a href="[360 space URL]">My 360 blog</a>

    * again, without the brackets
