  1. yes, use photoshop (if you have it) and select save as... choose save as smallest file. Hope that helps ;)

  2. Copy it into Paint ( in accesories on your PC) and save it as a JPEG format file

  3. Yes, in Vista when you go to save the photo go to 'Picture' function on the menu bar, down the bottom there will be 'Compress Pictures' you then get an option to compress for web pages etc, hope this helps.

In XP etc you could zip the file on reduce the resolution.

  4. You can use a program such as Irfanview (linked in sources), or just about any image editing application.  If the photo is going to be printed, it's best to keep the quality as good as possible.  If the photo will just be viewed online, it's generally safe to reduce the quality of the image.

  5. I normally make the pictures smaller (equivalent to 8x6 or somesuch) when I am uploading to the web - an unedited picture, straight of the digital camera will have pretty large dimensions.  Most photo-editing software will allow you to change the quality of a JPEG, too, which will reduce the filesize.

  6. yes you should find an option to "compress" file, i dont know what package you are using but most good ones have this facility, you have the option to compress it for use in either email, word documents or web pages

  7. 1st of all check if it's a .bmp file. These files are bigger and you can change it to .jpg using paintshop.Otherwise try this

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downl...

Scroll down and on the righthand size is a little programme to install and you can resize the image to any size you like.

  8. You need a photo editing software, so you can resize the photos, their may be one on your computer already... or within whatever program you may used to upload the photos onto your computer.

  9. yup there is a way.....use photo shop....resize the pic...and then save it as jpeg....

  10. Right click, copy and paste into "PAINT" (available under "Accessories" in Windows), and then crop.

Sometimes I copy and paste into Microsoft Word first, crop and edit appropriately, and then copy/paste into paint.  Then I just save it as a separate image file.

  11. this is probably the idiots way of doing it, but:

right click on the icon & click on edit

go into 'image' in the toolbar at the top

    click on 'strectch/skew

reduce to horizontal and vertical size by however much you want - as long as they are both equal. If they're not equal it will distort your picture.
