Is there a way to remove a fine scratch from eye glasses?

I have 3 little scratches on one of my lenses. I barely even noticed they were there. Is there a way to get rid of them, like buffing them out? And how much am I looking at price wise?

  1. Lens Dr.

  2. The trouble with toothpaste is that it doesn't have the clarity or properties of an optical lens.

On a CD it doesn't matter...but on an optical lens it won't help.

Sorry...when a lens is scratched, it has to be replaced. There is no such thing as buffing a lens, and none of those so called fillers work either, they just make a greasy coating that keeps washing off...and usually the glare it causes is worse than the scratches.

  3. If they aren't very deep they can probably be buffed out -- and most places wouldn't charge for that.  Take them back where you got them and see what they can do.

  4. You can't completely REMOVE scratches from your glasses. If you try buffing them or sanding it, it will just leave more scratches.

You can fill in the scratches, though. My friends and I wash our Cd's with toothpaste so that they're easier to play rather than skip every part of the songs. I'd definitely try toothpaste for your glasses.
