Is there a way to remove the option for new Group members to select "No Mail?"?

I have a Yahoo Group with about 4,000 members. I need to be able to send Special Notices and have ALL members receive those messages via email. Is there a way to quickly change all "No Mail" members to "Special Notices?" Is there a way to disable the "No Mail" option for new members who join the Group?

  1. No, changing member's email delivery would have to be done on an individual basis, one member at a time.

No, there is no way to disable the "No Mail" option at all, new members included.

You could make it a group rule that members cannot select the No Mail option and must at least receive Special Notices.  Of course, this would not stop some members from changing their email delivery mode to No Mail - new members or established members collectively.  Please consider the fact that some members might not  own a computer at home and use one at a library or elsewhere.  They probably prefer to keep their account at No Mail to keep their mail boxes from going over quota and view messages directly from the group site.

You would have to police this to keep everyone on target but with 4,000 members, would be a massive job in itself.

  2. Nope, there is no such choice, sorry :((

  3. sorry, Yahoo allows this choice for members, as well as they allow owners to change it but at the same time, the member can change it back. there is no way to prevent a new member or any member from checking no mail.

there is no way to reset this but page per page- before doing so you'll need to announce this requirement- you may throw everyone into bouncing if they're not expecting you to change their mail settings
