Is there a way to repair a tear in everlast boxing gloves?

i had these for a wile and they fit nice. and i really don't want to get a new pair is there somthing i can do to fix them the tear is on the middle of the fist

  1. I would assume that they're probably the vinyl covered everlast training gloves, right?  Really the only thing that you can do with those is the Texas fix-all:  duct tape.  That's the only way that you're going to be able to close the tear and keep it from re-opening.  Even then, you'll have to put several wraps around it and make sure that the seam is in the palm of the glove.  So long as you're using them for bag / mitt work, it will work fine.  If you're sparring with them, you need to get new gloves.

    If they're leather gloves, there's probably not anything that can be done.  The leather would pull away from tape.  You could take them to someplace that repairs leather (like a shoe repair shop), but I'm afraid they'll close it with a stitch.  Again- that might work if you're only using them as bag gloves, but it would NOT be appropriate to use for sparring.
