Is there a way to replace a COA for a collectable you bought?

i bought a collectors plate a while back but i dont have the coa (certificate of authenticity) anymore...is there any way to replace it?

My mother-in-law collected plates, and according to her, if you lost the COA, you were just out of luck.

Be aware that as investments go, collector's plates fetch very little, with or without a COA. Their worth is in the pleasure they give the owner, I guess.
