Is there a way to save a Skype chat as a file?

I have version 3.6. It almost seems as thought they don't want you to be able to save a chat. I looked it up in Help and they don't even mention it.

Yes, you simply click on your text conversation >> Ctrl + A >> Ctrl + C >> then you press Ctrl + V on your .doc file.

You should upgrade to the latest Skype version 3.8.  It has much improved Voice Call quality and other improvements.

Even though Skype doesn't have a "save to file" feature, you can recall your chat history by selecting the Menu option:

Chats--> Recent Chats

When the chat window opens just use mouse to Right-click on chat window and select "Select All";  then right-click again and select "Copy Selection".  Then open Note Pad and paste the text to your Note Pad file.
