Question:

Is there a way to sell individual parts from a used car to make more money than selling the entire car?

I have an old van that I have put a lot of parts into. Does anyone know an easy way to do this? I'm thinking like a miniature auto parts recycling business. I hear the catalytic converters have platinum in them that is valuable. The transmission and other parts are heavy pieces of aluminum that can be recycled. The steel frame is worth money, too.

  1. Thius is what auto recyclers /auto wreckers do..  It involves a lot of work and time but can be profitable

  2. you remove the parts yourself put them on craigslist.org

but it is probably best to clean it the best you can and sell it as a whole if it still is whole.

Vans, especially old ones have poor resale value.

  3. If you've got the time & energy to invest in selling the parts, you might come out ahead.  That's how junkyards make money.

It would depend on the van & what the demand is for parts off of it.  Frankly, I think you'll find it a lot of bother for not a whole lot extra money.  You'll be committed pretty quick, too.

Try selling parts on Craigslist or eBay, if you wish to proceed.

  4. you can sell the part into ebay or craiglist... You can sell online... You market is big...
