Is there a way to sell links and adverts without paying third party websites ?

The best thing to do is research some affiliate programs.  For example:

1.  Ebay offers one.

2.  Circuit City (even though they might go bankrupt) offers one.

3.  Consider getting a google ad words account.

You will need to design your own website, or even a blog would work just fine.  These companies will release a portal or website link for you to cut and paste.  Place that somewhere on your site or blog.  Wheneven someone clicks on the link they will be redirected to the site in question.  As long as they make a purchase within a limited time frame of when they first arrived to the company.  You should be compensated for it.

I don't know if this is what you were talking about.  But that is how some companies make good money.
