  1. You could use a photovoltaic cell to charge a battery, then use the battery at will to power a lamp with a solar light spectrum.

  4. Whilst it is very difficult to imagine, I think there was an artical on the BBC News website about some scientists that had managed to do it.

    Mabye it's just me though.

  5. You can convert the energy through a solar panel in to electricty and store that in a battery.  Then you can use the battery to power a torch.

    Not very efficient (you lose most of the sunlight) but it does work.

  8. No.  You can store the solar-sourced power in a battery or capacitor and use it to run a light source later, but that was not your question.  You can't "save" light in the same way that you cant "save" sound.
