  1. Reloaders can remove the bullet. You could use pliers but it will mar up the finish.

  2. take it to a gun dealer get them to remove all parts that may harm you if you try to drill through it. the primer is a cap in the end of the shell, it too has to be removed, as well as the powder. you may wish to have the bullet put back in for effect. before you take it too a gun dealer put it in water prior. this will render it useless. staycool

  3. PLEASE use the right tool!

    See below...

    Thanks,

    Joe

  4. r u crazy? lol, buy some powder,cheap azz

  5. hold the casing in ur hand an gently pull the bullet out with pliers. i works every time fer me

  6. Its called a kinetic bullet puller!!!

Its like a hammer that the bullet goes in and the weight of the bullet pulls it self out. along withe the powder of cause.

  7. If you like your fingers and face do not pull bullets with anything but a bullet puller used by ammo reloaders. Oh sure some have done it with pliers and got away with it but some crushed the primer by accident and got hurt in the process.

  8. yes there are tools you can buy

  9. For about twenty buck you can buy a kinetic bullet puller.  Or if you are careful you can use lock pliers or channel-locks.  Be sure and disable the primer once you dump the powder and before you re-install the bullet itself.  A few drops of oil in the case itself should disable the primer.

  10. 9 times out of 10 grabbing it and pulling it out with a pliers will work fine, except it will cut up and mash the soft lead of the bullet.

On occasion that technique will cause a LOT of problems, of the finger removing variety

further, once you do get the bullet out and the gunpowder dumped, how are you going to remove the primer?

The primer is probably the most dangerous part. Gunpowder needs fire to start it burning, a primer supplies that fire, as it explodes when hit hard.

I suggest asking to buy a single bullet here or on other internet forums, with the stated purpose of decoration, you'll probably have guys who will say 'send me a self addressed stamped envelope and a dollar bill, and I'll send you back a bullet in the case'

However, if you wear your new necklace to school, or the airport or someplace like that, expect to get in trouble and expect it to be treated like a real cartridge even though it is not.

Note to all the newbs who read this, bullet refers to JUST the lead projectile being fired, cartridge refers to the brass case, the gunpowder, the primer, and the bullet on top

  11. Yes you can but pliers will mess up the bullet. The best way is with an inertial bullet puller. ($15)  That way does not damage anything. If you want to savage the bullet and not worry about the casr get a block of wood  and drill a hole in about the size of the bullet stick in poit down  to to were the case just clear the wood and pry it back and forth a few times the bullet will come loose.
