Question:

Is there a way to tell how fast you throw with out a radar gun or any radar or fancy equipment?

just a stop watch or something cheap like that, also a way that is somewhat reasonable not overly complicated

  1. Time yourself with a stop watch. Then post a question to Yahoo Answers asking "What's a decent pitching speed for ...." (put in however old you are). Decide which answer sounds reasonable and tell everybody you know that you throw that hard.


  2. The cheapest way that I know of to find out how fast you throw is a glove radar, which will cost $70 at baseball warehouse. You won't find anything cheaper than that...

  3. no you cant,

    Radar baseballs are +/- 5 MPH- not worth it

    And if your a HS sophomore pitcher (like me) just develop a good fastball/changeup combo. No need for a slider or curve. I have a fastball around 77 and a changeup around 50 that falls off the table. Also minimum age for slider is 18 (i tried it, took about a month to get the regular velocity back)
