I'm really interested in learning this martial art but most of the gyms are nearly across town. So I was wondering if there is any way I can learn it at home or if there are any gyms close to where I live. I live in Houston, Texas in this zip code: 77087. Please help.

  1. Training alone is never good because you never have the inter action and plus you can never add critque to your skills. Plus learning on your own can only go so far, as to your fighting . Try a local ymca the one by were I live by teaches judo so for you it might be different.

  2. Training by yourself at home will cause you to be like Daniel in the Karate Kid before he met Mr. Miyagi. He thought he could fight and got his butt kicked. Unless you are doing it for fitness, I would suggest you go to a gym with a real trainer.

  3. i recommend internet courses. try flashmavi.com, thats the best source of muay thai and other martial arts. But before you try muay thai, you must know some of the consequences. Thai boxers train until the nerves in their knuckles, knees, shins, and elbow are dead meaning u wont feel anything in those areas. the idea may seem like a good thing but it has life-threatning risks. so if ur going to be a thai boxer ur going to have to be willing to lose connection with ur body. i know this cause im a thai boxer

  4. Not the best idea if you want some real skills, you can get some instructional videos, buy a heavy bag, gloves, hand wraps and shin pads. Also would help to have a friend who trains so they can come over and work on things with you.
