Is there a way to turn my laptop to a WAP (wireless access point)?

I use my phone as a modem on my laptop. I was wondering is there a way to then give out a wireless signal from my laptop after connecting with my phone, therefore making it a WAP I believe. Thanx in advance for help. Serious answers only please. Stupid answers will be reported. 10 points to the best answerer.

All cell phones make connections wirelessly called WAP

You could do it with two network cards and a wireless hub.

One network card would be configured to take in the internet connection, and the other would share the connection with an external device (the hub in this case).

Please note that a router would probably be about the same cost and a whole lot easier.
