when ever i get a phone call from my home telephone its BT line,it comes up on my mobile phone as with held number, i went on BT website and they say dial 1470 then the number u want to call, i did this and it worked, it only worked tho each time i dial 1470 then my mobile number. if i just dial my mobile number from my land line it still comes up as with held.

what do i need to do to take it off with held permanently so who ever rings from home doesnt have to dial 1470 then the number each time and that i know some one from home is calling me?

  1. you need to call bt on 0800800150 and they will remove the with held for you, it takes a few hours to come off the line and if you ever want to call someone after the service has been removed then you just dial 141 and that will with hold your number for that call

  2. cara has it right, if you have registered on bt.com you should also be able to do it online.

  3. There are a few answers for this question.

    1. go to bt.com. You should be able to remove it.

    2. Im sure the Automated service can remove calling features also. The number is 0800443311

    hope this helps

  4. Hi,

You do need your service provider to lift the withheld number (CLIR - Calling Line ID Restriction) from your line. Or if you wish to keep your number private then you can add 1470 to the start of the dial number string, I would store 1470 as an option on the phone if you can, so you don't have to keep dialling it.

If you do go for removing the withheld number you can dial 141 before a call to put it back on for that call only.

    Hope this helps you?
