Is there a way to use the diamonds on a pool table to position your shots?

I kno i heard something about this a couple years ago but i cant remember how it works.

Yes, there is. This fills a whole chapter in my pool book. I tried it following the instructions and it did not work for me any better than what I had learned to "feel" over the years as the right angles, especially for 2 or 3 rail shots. Bottom line I don't apply it and therefore cannot explain it either. My recommendation: practice, practice, practice and watch what happens. If you know how to pocket a ball over 3 rails repetitive, see what happens if you vary speed and english and then practice some more. If you want to learn the diamond system, buy a book or a video.

Yes there is a way to do it using angles and geometry but i also forget how it is exactly done.

Yes, but it's very complicated.  You would need to have a book or somebody teach you.  But there's a lot of things you can do with the diamonds.

The diamond system is too much to explain on yahoo answers. There are some good books and videos on the subject  I'm sure you can find them via google or yahoo search. I don't actually know the system myself. I rely on touch and instinct to play pool. Some times I might use the diamonds to figure my cue ball  position. Like , I need to get to that diamond to have a shot on my next ball , or something like that. Good luck to ya!
