Is there a way to vent a window air conditioner without putting the whole unit in the window?

  1. you want to vent the air conditioner outside to allow the warm air to escape otherwise you are defeating the whole purpose of the air conditioner


  2. If you look at the back of the window unit there will be louvers on the side that allow OUTDOOR air to flow through and discharges out the coils, so the hole back portion of the unit needs to be outside.

  3. no sorry unless you want water and exhaust fumes inside the house. There are units made that sit inside the house but they cost about $500 and up. A window ac has to go in the window.

  4. Since it exhausts hot air, and needs cool to circulate and work, the window it the best bet, unless you want to cut a hole in your wall for it to vent outside.
