the phones in my house have caller ID, but they are so old that you basically can't read any of them any more. It just looks like a bunch of dots. This person keeps calling and not saying anything. I can make out some of the number, they have the same area code, and there's a 9 and a 4 in it. but other than that, it's completely impossible to tell. We really need new phones! so, i was wondering if the phone company keeps records of who calls your house and when and if the information would be accesible to me....i REALLY want to know who keeps calling. does the operator know, could i just call them?

any info. would help! thanks! :)

  1. By dialing *69, you will get a recording of the last number that called you.

  2. Try dialing *69 right after they call. It's like caller ID, but I think you get a recording of the number.

  3. If you "star"  *69 right after the call, the "operator" tells you what the number it  is that just called you and you can hang up without calling that number if you do not want to call that number back.  I am not sure if the phone company will tell you that information.   When we were gwtting pranked some years ago, the phone company told us to change our number if we didn't want to be getting the calls - not an option for us.
