Question:

Is there a web site for comparing overall insurance rates for different makes/models of cars?

I am *not* looking to get an insurance quote, but more of a ranking of different vehicles, specific to models. I want to compare vehicles that are roughly in the same purchase price range.

If I know ahead of time that one vehicle is ranked less expensive to insure than another, it may influence my car choice.

Obviously, high end performance or luxury vehicles are more expensive to purchase/repair/replace, and therefore more to insure. I'm not looking high end.

  1. I would just contact your agent for different cars to compare cost with (it doesn't take them that long). The reason being is insurance rates are very personalized (your age, driving history, location, other drivers, credit, etc).

Actually, more expensive cars aren't always the most expensive to insure. Repair costs are not covered by insurance like medical insurance. Insurers are worried more about the stability of the vehicle in accidents and how many people statistically get insured in those accidents plus those cars that are the most likely to be stolen (injury, theft, and collision).

Try googling the following "least expensive cars to insure". I had some success there.

  2. I'm not an expert on this, but I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert's tips over there.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  3. because I said so, For car insurance the quickest method to get a cheap quote is do a policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage levels, you can get an fast quote to compare against others. Use the same city/state, auto make and model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get accurate comparison. To get easy auto quotes, go to http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Auto-I... and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.
