  1. this is where i planned mine www.travelocity.com

  2. well, if you want a website that tell you the costs to go to a certain country, then yes, that will be the airlines' websites. however, if you are talking about an easy way out figuring an affordable holiday that somehow matches your travel dates, i dont think such a website exist. i wish it were that easy too. :) but to plan a holiday takes more than just one website.

if it is too difficult, why dont you visit travel agencies, and ask them for their advice? the good and experienced ones will give you sound advice without trying to talk you into purchasing their packages.

but it is also good if you can have some idea of the types of holidays you want to have first, and where? do you have any particular place you have always wanted to visit all your life? do you want a beach holiday? a shopping trip?

    good luck!

  3. No - none whatsoever.

All of the travel websites - including the ones mentioned by the other posters - require you give them a point of origin and a destination.  At best, some can provide alternate destination airports for the same general area, such as JFK, LaGaurdia, Newark, and MacArthur for New York City.

Even then: you really need to check around for the best price.  When I went from New York to St. Petersburg Russia, all of the American websites had airfares starting at US$1300 - and very few European airlines mentioned.  However, hotelclub.com is a European website and listed ALL of the local airlines.  I flew Finnair - for $715.  See what I mean?  It all depends.

Can you at least say what kind of trip you are interested in?  Beach?  Museums?  Cruise?  Snow/Ice?  Churches/archtecture?  Countryside?  City?  Warm?  Cold?

You haven't even mentioned your point of origin; your options and costs from Samarkand will be a wee bit different than they will be from San Francisco, for example.

What country are you a citizen of?  Do you own a current passport?  Will you need a visa for your destination?  How easy is it to get one from that location?  Airfare shopping is a waste of time if you can't get a visa.  If you live in San Francisco, a visa to Samarkand is a matter of paying a fee and sending your passport to their consulate - no problem.  The opposite direction is totally impossible - don't waste your time as you'll be denied.

Your choices are limited only by what's on this planet, your preferences, your ability to get a visa, and your budget.  Bon voyage!

  4. If this is your first time....do a travel agent....get up to speed and know what you want...then do it on your own next time.

RESIST...AT ALL COSTS TIME SHARE SALES MEN AT YOUR DESTINATION......DON'T DO IT.....THESE GUYS WILL SEND YOU HOME WITHOUT YOUR SHORTS...

If your young or just starting to travel...try RCI membership...be great for us.

  5. You could try http://www.skyscanner.net it will search for the cheapest flights from all the airlines. There is a neat feature, where you can select a month and it will display the cheapest flights on each day. It does not decide for you where you should go, that is a matter of personal choice, but I understand where you are coming from.

  6. Any travel airline website can give that info.

  7. yeah. you can check with any of the airline's website. the pricing differs at every airline.
