Is there a website (UK) where you can find out about marriages in the past 5 years?

I have both surnames just not sure where they got married

  1. Try www.ancestry.co.uk

    I think it might be on there


  2. The BMD indexes on Ancestry go up to about 2006 now.  They won't tell you where and when, but the indexes will give you the information you need to go to the official GRO website, pay your £7 and order a copy.  It all depends how badly you want the information.

    Note that the above only applies to England and Wales.  In Scotland you need to be at scotlandspeople.gov.uk, and again, to view the information on recent events you'll need to order a copy from NRH in Edinburgh.  Scottish certs are £10 I think.  Or they were last time I paid for one.
