  1. The two best sites for maint. are:

    http://www.sheldonbrown.com/

    http://www.parktool.com/repair/

Sheldon Brown's site contains a wealth of knowledge and should be in every bikers web browser's favorites list.

The only thing missing from either of these two sites deals with the specifics of an individual component for that you can get them at the parts manufactures web site.

The best all around book is Zinn's. There are a few others but most all the book stores have Zinn's mtn and road miant. books on the shelf.

  2. Mtbwhacky is right.  Sheldon Brown is an excellent source.  Here is the home link for his articles:

    www.sheldonbrown.com

I've included a couple of more links below that I think may be helpful.

I believe it's a good idea for all cyclists to do their own basic maintenance.  Not only does it save money, but it puts you more in tune with your machine, and enables you to fix things on the road or trail when no other mechanic is available.

    Happy riding.

  3. Search for Sheldon Brown (R.I.P.) his site has tons of tips on it. Lenard Zinn has some videos on his site. He publishes a book "Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance."

  4. Whenever I want to do something to the bike I'm not sure about, I always check the Sheldon Brown web site first. The second place I look is the Park Tools web site: http://www.parktool.com/repair/byregion.... Lots of good "how to" instructions there.
