I need to send out a ribbon cutting ceremony invitation, and I am not sure the correct way to do it.

Thanks!

  1. I don't know about a website for that particular function (ribbon cutting), but maybe you could word it something like this:

The ________(name of organization responsible for the ribbon) would be honored by your presence at the cutting of the ribbon for ________(name of site or building...whatever the ribbon is for) on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. 1234 State St. Anytown, AnyState, Zip Code. (123) 456-7890. Reception to follow (if there is one, and give the address and time for that as well)

    I hope that helps.

Also, if it's for a person or organization where donations would be appreciated or gifts accepted, I wouldn't put those on the invitation. It's considered to be a faux pas in every. single. etiquette book I've ever read to put ANY mention of donations or gifts on an invitation (even if it's "no gifts, please".)
