Is there a website that has solid information on swelling and icing?

The websites I have found are pretty cursory. I'm looking for some in depth information on why body tissue swells and why icing works.

I do not know about a web site.  What I do know is...Cold causes constriction of vessels and tissue; this will cause swelling of the tissue to decrease.

Heat on the other hand causes dilation of vessels and tissue.  This will not eliminate swelling but it will eliminate stiffness.

Most doctors suggest the alternation of heat and cold for swelling.

Body tissues can swell for a number of reasons.  Inflammation, injury, blood, fluid, etc can cause swelling,
