  1. The best way to find out about a preschool is to visit it. Any preschool will allow this...should allow this at ay time of day that they are open. You should be able to talk to teacher, the director and maybe parents at the school.

  2. When choosing a preschool for your child, make sure you choose an accredited one.  Naeyc.org will help you locate one.  Also if you are in the Massachusetts area, the best one is Ayer Kiddie Depot

  3. First look for preschool programs that offer 1/2 day only instead of full day childcare with 1/2 day preschool option because you tend to get a better program that way and they are focused on Kindergarten prep. Don't be scared away from a program that emphasizes play as most early childhood professionals agree that young children learn best through play. However, ask and observe how they incorporate learning objectives into a hands on play based learning environment. Look for interactive teachers, happy kids, and quality materials on low open shelves for the kids to use independently. That should head you in the right direction to finding a quality program for your child.

  4. The city offers preschool but when I called they wouldn't tell me the cirriculm for the preschool..all they said was they play outside, do art, and then they get to choose inside play. My daughter needs to prepare for Kindergarden and i'm not going to pay for her to go to school to play all day. So I just talked to my neighbor who has her kids in a private school. My daughter goes to Peace Lutheran School and that was the best decision I ever made. She has advanced so much since she started. The classes are small which I like, the work the preschoolers do is all one on one with the teacher. They have a large variety of things like language arts , science, math, social studies, music, art, physical education, and study skills. They go to a little chapel service every wednsday morning for half an hour....which I think is good. My daughter has done a total 360 since she has been there and thats all she talks about is school and she gets mad because she cant go 5 days a week. I only pay $119 a month. It is all worth it. I would just suggest talking to some neighbors. Im sure glad I did

  5. There is a new site that seems to have alot of daycare listings in sertain parts of Canada. the link is www.godaycare.com. You can even review a daycare if you want.

  6. this will give you all the major child care centers in your area (unless you live in a more rural area) this company is the nations largest childcare provider.

  7. Check out your local childcare listings in the phone book.  In the part of Ohio I live, there are agencies that help parents find relaible childcare and give out listings of sitters in the area that you live in.  It is up to the parent, though, to check the internet for day care complaince reports.  These are reports on random visits to the centers and list any and all violations.  After a violation is found, a center usually has a set amount of time to correct the problem.  Hope this helps!!
