Is there a website that tracks ships?

Cruise, cargo, tankers? Showing what port they were in, what port they are going to? I think insurance companies and owners of the contents would need to know that.

Try  www.sailwx.info   you can track ships by vessel name or call sign.

If u are an owner of the cargo then you should know who is carrying your cargo and then you can contact them at any time to see where your stuff is and when it will arrive.  Where I work we have things arrive from overseas and when we are waiting on them, we have the freight companies calling us daily to inform us when it will be here and where it is currently.  Even when it goes to the railyard, once it is on land.
