I like to read but never know about any good books that i would like so i never get into a book often. So i want to know if there's a site where i could possibly enter my favorite authors and style of writing and genres and it would recommend books to me based on that information. THANKS

  1. amazon.com if you search for a book you like in the 'books' section of the website at the bottom it will say 'Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought' it'll show books similar to what a book you have already read. thats how i find all my books.

  2. I don't know a site like this, but you can do what I sometimes do.  I go to either Barnes and Noble or Amazon's web sites.  You can browse by genre.  Their genre distinctions are broken up more than most people would expect.

Another thing that I sometimes do is find a book that I particularly liked.  I look it up and click on it.  Usually if you scroll down the page you can find other books that customers bought when they bought that book.  It may give you some ideas.  Also, with every book there is a description, professional reviews, and most of the time there are also reviews by customers who've read the books.  This will give you a more complete idea about the book.

    Hope this helps.

  5. The website Good Reads might work for you...also the LibraryThing web site/web service where you catalog/enter your books has an element where you can get a list of recommended fiction and nonfiction based on the titles you listed...I found it worked pretty well for me.  Also please try visiting your local library--they will love to hear about books you loved and then suggest titles that might work for you. It's a very personalized service, even better than the web. : )

PS Both web sites I mention are free but require you to register. Never have I gotten one spam from either so they are "safe."
